First impressions are rough drafts. Most people deserve a second read.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A first meeting is assembled from almost nothing, a few minutes on a day you know nothing about, filtered through whatever mood you arrived in. It feels like insight because it comes fast, and speed is easily mistaken for accuracy. What you actually formed was a sketch made under poor conditions.
Give one person a deliberate second look this week, particularly someone you quietly filed away. Ask a question that assumes there is more to them. And remember that you have been misread on a bad day too, and would have liked the second read.
Who would look different to you on a second meeting?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
