Agreement feels safe, but you learn nothing from people who only nod.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A room that agrees with you feels like proof, but it is mostly an echo. Nodding costs nothing, so it tells you nothing about whether your thinking holds up. The people who push back are handing you information for free, even when the delivery is clumsy. Comfort and correction rarely arrive together.
Take one thing you are sure about to someone who sees it differently. Ask what they think you are missing, then stay quiet long enough to actually hear it. You are not looking to be defeated. You are looking for the part you could not see from where you stand.
Does anyone around you disagree with you out loud?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
