Your footprints matter most where someone else finds direction in them.

The influence you have is mostly not in what you achieved but in the places where someone else used your example to find their way. That happens quietly and you often never hear about it, and the people it matters to may never mention it. This is not a reason to perform for an audience. It is a reason to notice that you are always leaving a trail for someone.

Think about who is watching how you handle things, at work or at home, whether or not you asked to be watched. Be a little more deliberate about the parts they can see. Someone is probably taking direction from it.
