A snowball starts tiny and gets huge just by rolling. Nobody sees the size until the bottom of the hill.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Accumulation is invisible during most of its run. The early stage looks like nothing and the growth rate depends on the size already gathered, which means the noticeable part comes late and arrives all at once. Everyone who quits does so during the part that looks like nothing.

Keep it rolling rather than trying to make it bigger faster. A small consistent amount, protected from interruption, on something that compounds: money, skill, a body of work, a friendship. Stop measuring the size each week. Measure whether it is still moving, because early on that is the only variable that matters.
