Sometimes peace at home is a good pair of headphones and a closed door. That’s not rebellion; it’s ventilation.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Needing to withdraw for a while inside a shared space is not a statement about anybody. Proximity with no privacy wears people down, and a small amount of deliberate separation usually improves how everyone gets along, because what builds up in a crowded house is not resolved by more contact. Space is maintenance rather than rejection.
Take an hour behind a closed door without apologising for it or explaining it as a mood. Say plainly that you will be out later. Most tension at home eases considerably with a little more room in it.
Where in a crowded house can you actually breathe?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
