Do something this week with no goal except that you like it. Your joy doesn’t need a return on investment.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Almost everything gets justified now by what it produces, whether that is a skill, a step forward, or something to show. Under that rule an activity that produces only enjoyment starts to feel wasteful, and it quietly gets cut. What goes with it is not leisure but the part of you that wants things for their own sake.
Spend an hour this week on something with no output at all. Do not track it, photograph it or try to get better at it. If you catch yourself hunting for a justification, that is worth noticing on its own.
What would you do this week purely because you enjoy it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
