Trends are designed to be urgent and short. The urgency is what gets your hours, and the shortness is what makes those hours hard to account for later, because the thing they went into no longer exists for anyone to see. None of that means enjoying something briefly is a waste, only that the cost is easy to miss.

Before you sink real time into something moving fast, ask whether you will care about it in a month. If the answer is yes, enjoy it. If the answer is no and you want to anyway, that is allowed too, as long as you chose it rather than drifted into it.
