Age does not remove problems; it changes which problems you would willingly trade for older ones.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
The problems do not thin out; they change shape. The anxieties of one decade get replaced by the responsibilities of the next, and you may find yourself missing troubles that once felt unbearable. That is not nostalgia being foolish. It is a real recognition that some difficulties were lighter than the ones that came after, and that you did not know it at the time.
When you catch yourself waiting for a period when things will be simpler, try assuming instead that there will always be something. Then the question becomes which problems you would rather have, which is a real choice and a much more useful one than waiting for the absence of all of them.
Which of your old worries would you happily take back today?
