CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Detail work and direction work are two different jobs, and the trouble comes from doing one while believing you are doing the other. Hours of careful correction feel productive, and they can still be spent on something that should not exist at all. Precision only pays once the thing it is applied to is worth the precision.

Build a habit of stepping back before you polish. Ask what this is for and whether it is still the right approach, then go back in and do the fine work. Once a week is often enough. What matters is that the question gets asked at all.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Are you polishing a detail inside the wrong project?
