Mystery does not make reality less meaningful; sometimes it makes reality worth examining.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

The idea that unexplained things drain meaning gets it backwards. What is fully accounted for stops holding attention; it is the unresolved that keeps you looking. Consciousness, why there is anything at all, what another person’s experience is actually like from inside: these remain open, and their openness is what makes examination worth the effort.

Rather than being unsettled by what you cannot explain, try keeping a couple of those questions deliberately in view. Return to one occasionally without needing to close it. Living with an open question is a different and richer experience than either answering it falsely or refusing to ask.
