The same event, every day of your life, and no two of them identical. The particular combination of moisture, dust, light angle and cloud on any given morning has not occurred before and will not repeat. Something can be entirely reliable in its occurrence and entirely unrepeatable in its details, and most of what we dismiss as routine is like this.

Watch one this week, properly, for the few minutes it takes. Not as an achievement or a photograph. Just look. The reliability is what lets you take it for granted, and the uniqueness is what makes taking it for granted a small loss every day.
