Autopilot days don’t get saved. Ask anyone to describe last Wednesday.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

A day spent entirely on routine leaves almost no trace, because nothing in it needed you to be there in any particular way. The tasks get done and the hours pass, and afterwards there is nothing to retrieve. That is how whole months disappear without any obvious cause.

Break one pattern today, even trivially. Eat somewhere else, take a different way home, call somebody at a time you never call. It is not about the activity, it is about giving the day a single feature it can be filed under.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Can you describe last Wednesday without checking your phone?
