Wonder asks what something is before asking what it can do for you.

Utility is a fast, useful question, and it arrives so quickly that it usually prevents the other one. What is this, what is it doing, how does it work, what is it like: those get skipped in favor of what it can do for you, and the thing is filed as a resource rather than encountered. Whole categories of experience disappear this way, including, often, other people.
Try asking the first question before the second, once a day. About an object, a place, a person. The delay is short and it produces a different kind of attention, one that people can feel when it is directed at them.
What have you only ever valued for its usefulness to you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
