If a friend would post your worst moment for views, they see you as content, not a person.

Being treated as material is a specific kind of hurt because it is impersonal. Someone weighing your bad moment against the attention it would get has already made a calculation in which you are a subject rather than a friend, and they probably did not experience it as cruelty. That is the part that stings later.

Notice who asks before posting anything with you in it. Be that person yourself, reliably, including when the footage is funny. And if someone has done it to you, say plainly that you did not want it up; the ones worth keeping take it down without argument.
