Nobody owes you their trust back just because you finally said the right words.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Words begin a repair and do not finish it. A good apology matters, but it is a promise about the future, and a promise is worth whatever the record later says. The person you hurt is allowed to watch and wait for as long as they need. Hurrying them is a way of asking them to take the risk again on your schedule.
If you have apologized well and nothing has softened yet, keep behaving well anyway. Do not ask for credit or set a deadline. What you can control is whether you are still worth trusting three months from now.
Whose trust are you expecting back on your schedule?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
