Some people do not want answers; they want uncertainty to finally choose the answer they prefer.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Sometimes the request for advice is a request for a verdict already chosen. Every option gets weighed until the uncertainty resolves in the desired direction, and any input pointing elsewhere is met with new considerations. This is not dishonesty. It is what happens when a person has decided but needs the decision to arrive as a conclusion rather than a preference.
When you are agonizing, try flipping a coin and noticing what you hope for while it is in the air. If you find yourself relieved or disappointed, you already know. Then own it as a choice rather than continuing to construct a case.
What advice do you keep asking for until someone agrees with you?
