Before you ever shake the interviewer’s hand, your old teammates have already described you.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Your reputation arrives before you do. People talk, and the picture assembled from a hundred small moments with teammates and classmates is what gets passed along long before any formal conversation. That picture is made of behavior nobody thought was being recorded. It is also very hard to revise at short notice.
Treat the way you handle a dull group project as the thing being remembered, because it is. Be the person others would describe as easy to work with and honest about mistakes. That description travels further than anything you could say about yourself.
If your old teammates described you, what would they say?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
