Get curious about where you might be wrong. It’s the most interesting place on the map.

Everything you already have right is settled ground, and nothing new grows there. The interesting territory sits at the edge, where your account of things might not hold, which is also the place your instincts work hardest to keep you away from. Defensiveness is not protecting you from being wrong. It is protecting you from finding out.

Take one belief you hold firmly and go looking for the strongest version of the opposing case, written by someone who actually believes it. Not to convert, but to see its shape. You will either hold your view more honestly or trade it for a better one.
