Your personality explains how you feel. It doesn’t give you a pass for what you did.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Temperament is a real account of what things feel like from where you sit. It describes the inside and settles nothing about the outside, where other people are dealing with what you actually did. Both can be true at once: the reaction was genuinely harder for you than it looked, and the person on the other end is still owed a repair.

Keep the two apart when you explain yourself. Say the plain thing you did first and let the context come second, if at all. Knowing your own wiring is useful for prevention and does no work as a defense.
