Some truths are urgent. Others need the right moment. Know the difference before you speak.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Timing is part of telling the truth rather than a loophole in it. Some information cannot wait, because somebody is about to make a decision without it. Other things land far better after a night’s sleep or away from an audience, and saying them immediately serves your urge to be finished more than their ability to hear it.
Use one test: does the delay protect them or protect you. If it protects you, speak now. If waiting genuinely helps them take it in, pick the moment and put it in the calendar, because a postponement with no date is avoidance.
Which honest thing are you saving for a better moment?
