You’re allowed to have a bad day without turning it into a bad identity.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A day goes wrong and the mind tries to promote it into a fact about you: lazy, behind, not cut out for this. The day is only a day. It had a bad hour in it, maybe several, and it ends at midnight like all the others. The story you build on top of it is the part that follows you into tomorrow.

When you catch yourself turning one afternoon into a verdict, change the sentence from being bad at something to having had a bad day at it. Then name the one thing that actually went wrong, and leave the rest of yourself out of it.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which bad day did you let define who you are?
