Your therapist hands you a resistance band, not a miracle. Recovery is mostly rubber bands and repetition.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Recovery is unglamorous by design. It is small loads repeated often, counted in sets rather than in breakthroughs, and the progress is mostly invisible from one day to the next. That can feel like being fobbed off when you wanted something decisive. The band is not a lesser treatment, it is the actual mechanism.
Do the boring exercises on the days you cannot see the point, and count them rather than judging them. Keep a simple tally on your phone. Ask the person treating you what it should feel like, so you know you are doing it right rather than only doing it.
Are you waiting for a breakthrough where repetition is the actual method?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
