An unsupported accusation says more than many people realize.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
An accusation made without support reveals something about the accuser: what they are willing to assert, how they treat evidence, what they expect the audience to accept without checking. That information is often more reliable than the claim itself, which may or may not turn out to be true. Both things deserve attention.
When you hear a serious charge with nothing behind it, resist both dismissing it entirely and accepting it. Note the claim as unverified and note how it was made. And be careful about repeating it, since repetition is the mechanism by which unsupported claims acquire the appearance of substance.
What have you accused someone of without being able to show it?
