Being successful and still calling your grandma back are not separate achievements.

Personal decency gets treated as something to attend to once the important work is done, as though they were two separate projects. They are one. Somebody who achieved a great deal and lost everybody along the way did not succeed at a cost, they failed at part of it. A returned phone call is not time taken away from the work.

Answer the message you have been meaning to answer today rather than at the weekend. Keep one standing commitment to a person that you do not move for anything. Notice if your ambitions keep requiring you to postpone people, because that pattern tends to continue.
