Ambition gets lighter when you stop needing everyone to understand it.

LEADERSHIP
Explaining a goal repeatedly to people who are unconvinced is exhausting, and the exhaustion gets attached to the goal itself. Most people cannot picture something they have not seen, which is not hostility, just how imagination works. Needing their agreement adds a second job on top of the first. The work does not require anybody’s approval in order to continue.
Pick two or three people who do understand and talk to them about it. With everybody else, give the short version and change the subject. Notice how much energy comes back once you stop arguing your case at dinner.
Whose approval of your plans are you still waiting for?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
