Legacy sounds huge. Mostly it’s whether people felt safe asking you for help.

What people remember is usually not what you produced, it is how they felt approaching you. Somebody who was easy to ask gets remembered warmly for decades by people whose names they have long forgotten. That reputation is built in moments you barely register: how you answered a basic question, whether you sighed, whether you made somebody feel slow.
Watch your reaction the next time somebody asks you something obvious, and answer as though it were a reasonable question, because it was. Make it easy for the newest person to ask you twice. That is the whole of it, repeated.
Do people find it easy to ask you for help?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
