Your name in the credits is cool. Your name in someone’s thank-you speech is better.

LEADERSHIP
Credits record that you were present. A thank-you speech records that you mattered to somebody, which is harder to earn, because it comes out of how you treated one person rather than which role you filled. One is administrative and the other is a judgment. Plenty of people have long credit lists and have never been named the second way.
The route there runs through ordinary helpfulness that nobody logs. Be the one who explains it again, covers the shift, or sends the useful link. You will not know when it lands, which is more or less the point.
Whose thank-you would mean more to you than any credit?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
