Your best taco isn’t your brand. Your average taco is.

LEADERSHIP
Reputation gets built from your floor, not your ceiling. People mostly meet the ordinary version of what you do, on a normal day with normal effort, and that is the version they describe to somebody else. The exceptional one is good to know you can reach, and hardly anybody ever experiences it. Consistency is not the lesser virtue here, it is the thing being measured.
So rather than trying to raise your best, try raising your worst. Ask what your work looks like when you are tired at the end of a shift, and fix that version. The average is what gets you asked back.
What does your average work say, not your best piece?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
