Big ambitions cost sleep, weekends or money. Pick which currency you’ll pay in before the bill picks for you.

Everything large takes something, and the only real question is which account it comes out of. Sleep, weekends and money are the three usual ones, and if you do not choose, the bill gets taken from whichever is easiest to raid, which is normally sleep. Deciding in advance is not pessimism. It makes the cost a choice you made instead of damage you absorbed.

Before you commit, name the currency out loud. If it is weekends, say which weekends. If it is money, say how much and for how long, then tell somebody, so the decision has a witness and an end date.
