One outcome cannot always tell you whether the process deserved confidence.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
One result is a very small sample. It tells you what happened, not how likely it was, and a good process can produce a bad day just as a bad process can get away with a good one. Confidence built on a single outcome is confidence in a coincidence.
When you are deciding whether to trust an approach, look for repetition rather than intensity. Has it worked more than once, in more than one condition, for more than one person. If you cannot answer that yet, hold your conclusion loosely and keep gathering.
