Rich and respected don’t always live at the same address.

Money and standing get bundled together so often that it is easy to assume one buys the other. They are earned by different behaviour. One comes from what you accumulate, the other from how you have treated people over years, and plenty of people hold a great deal of the first with almost none of the second. The reverse is common too, and usually happier.

Think of two adults you know: one you would borrow money from, one you would take advice from. Notice whether they are the same person. Then ask which of the two you are currently on track to become.
