The best kind of ambition makes your circle bigger, not smaller.

There are two directions a goal can push you. One pulls people in, because you need help, you start explaining things, you meet others doing the same work. The other clears people out, because everybody becomes a comparison or a delay. Both can produce results, and only one leaves you with anyone around at the end. The direction is usually visible early if you look for it.

Count the people you have met because of what you are building, and the ones you have stopped talking to. If the second number is growing faster, invite one of them to something this week.
