Whoever trains the new hire well is building something the company never asked for and badly needs.

Training is almost never in anybody’s job description and nearly everything depends on it. Whoever takes twenty minutes with a new starter is deciding how well that job gets done for the next two years, without being asked or paid for the decision. It is invisible work that compounds quietly. Places that run well usually have one or two people doing it off their own initiative.
When somebody new arrives on your shift, take them properly through one thing instead of leaving them to guess. Show the part everybody gets wrong. You will understand your own job better and the place will run smoother for months.
