Real ambition says “teach me” more often than it says “watch me.”
LEADERSHIP
LEADERSHIP
A desire to be seen and a desire to get better pull in opposite directions. Performing burns energy you could have spent learning, and it shuts you off from correction, because nobody watching an exhibition offers notes. Asking to be taught costs a little status in the moment and buys you skill. People who improve fastest tend to be the ones most willing to look unfinished.
Swap one piece of showing for one piece of asking this week. Rather than posting the work, send it to somebody better than you and request the honest version. Then follow their advice for a fortnight before judging it.
When did you last ask someone to teach you something?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
