A job that pays more but kills your sleep is a loan against your health.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Money earned at the cost of rest is borrowed rather than earned, and the repayment comes out of your concentration, your temper, and the grades or friendships that need you awake. Over a short stretch the trade can be well worth making. As a permanent arrangement it quietly charges you more than the difference in pay.
Work out the extra per week against what it is costing, and put an end date on it rather than leaving it open. Ask about shifts that finish earlier, even for slightly less. Where the money is not optional right now, protect one full night a week.
What would extra money be worth if it cost your rest?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
