Every shortcut you take at work becomes something the next shift has to clean up.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
A shortcut does not remove the work, it relocates it. Whatever you skipped is waiting for whoever comes in next, usually with less information about what happened and less time to fix it. The time you saved was real and so is the time they lose, and they are not the same person, which is why this is tempting.
Before you clock out, take two minutes to leave the place in the state you would want to walk into. If you genuinely ran out of time, write a note saying what is undone instead of letting someone discover it. Teams protect people who do this.
What have you left half-done for whoever comes in next?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
