Quitting can be smart. Just make sure you’re quitting the thing and not just the hard week.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Leaving is sometimes exactly right, and the timing of the decision tells you which kind it is. A week when you are exhausted, behind and have just failed at something is the worst possible moment to assess whether the thing itself is wrong. The feeling is identical either way. What differs is whether it is still there when you are rested.
Give yourself a fixed window before deciding: two more weeks, or until after the exam. Write down now what would have to be true for you to stay. If you still want out when you are sleeping normally, leave without guilt, and tell someone rather than just vanishing.
Are you tired of the whole thing or just this week?
