Additions come with upkeep. Another possession, another subscription, another commitment, another account, each small at the point of acquisition and each adding a permanent small draw on attention and money. The load is never one item; it is the accumulated maintenance of everything you have said yes to.

Before adding something, ask what its ongoing cost is, not its purchase cost. And once a season, remove something. Subtraction is the only thing that keeps the total from climbing on its own.
