Talking a problem through out loud often solves it before the other person says a word.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Thoughts in your head are allowed to stay vague. Speech will not permit that, so turning something into sentences forces the parts into order, and the gap that was hiding in the middle becomes obvious the moment you have to say it out loud. The other person’s job is often just to be present enough that you keep going. You were short of structure rather than answers.

Find somebody willing to listen for five minutes and explain the problem from the beginning. Tell them they do not have to solve it. If nobody is around, say it to the wall, which works better than it sounds.
