Silence isn’t agreement. Ask what people think out loud.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Quiet in a room can mean yes, or it can mean confusion, boredom, politeness, or fear of being the one who objects. Reading it as agreement is comfortable because it lets the plan move, which is why people do it constantly. A group that nods its way into a decision nobody wanted was never actually asked.
If you are running anything, a project, a shift, a group chat, ask directly and by name. Something as simple as what are you thinking gives people a door. Then wait long enough for somebody to walk through it.
Whose silence have you counted as a yes?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
