Ask anyone who grew up bilingual. Some feelings only fit in one of the languages.

Languages are not interchangeable boxes for the same contents. Each one grew up around a particular life, so each ends up with a word for something its speakers needed to name, and the nearest translation lands slightly off, like a shoe half a size wrong. Anybody raised between two languages knows the feeling of reaching for the right word and finding it in the other one.
If you have a second language at home, stop apologizing for switching mid-sentence. Use whichever word is accurate and explain it when somebody asks. If you only have one, ask a bilingual friend for a word English is missing.
