A debate judge can’t vote for an argument you never said out loud. Neither can the people in your life.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nobody gets credit for the thinking they kept inside. You can have the right answer, the fair objection, the thing you wanted to offer, and none of it counts if it stays in your head, because other people are only working with what reached them. The gap between what you think and what you say is invisible to everyone but you.

Pick the one thing you have been meaning to say and say it this week, even clumsily. A parent who does not know you want something cannot give it to you. A coach who does not know you want to play that position cannot put you there.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What case have you made silently and expected people to hear?
