Racing in cold rain is tough. Racing through lightning isn’t brave, it’s reckless. Courage knows where that line is.

RESILIENCE
Bravery and recklessness get confused because they look identical from the outside. The difference is whether the risk can be managed: cold and discomfort are things you can train for and recover from, while a strike is simply out of your hands. Choosing a danger you cannot control is not courage, it is a bet with the odds hidden.
Before the next hard thing, ask what the worst outcome is and whether anything you do changes it. If the answer is nothing, that is the line. Stopping a session for weather, or sitting out an injury, takes more nerve in front of a team than carrying on does.
