Power is most revealing when there is little risk in using it badly.

How someone uses power when misuse is costless is the most informative thing about them. Restraint under scrutiny proves nothing, since the incentive is doing the work. What happens with no oversight, no consequence, and no audience is where the actual disposition shows.

Notice the small cases in your own life where you could take something and no one would object. How you handle those is the honest record. It also happens to be where habits are formed for the larger cases later.
