Taking the risk to forgive someone means they might hurt you again. Forgiving with eyes open is wiser than forgiving blind.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Forgiving and trusting are two separate moves, and collapsing them into one is what makes forgiveness feel reckless. You can put the grudge down, which is mostly for your own benefit, without handing back the same access somebody had before. Blind forgiveness skips the part where you notice what happened and why it happened. The open-eyed kind keeps the lesson and drops the weight.
Separate the two questions this week: have you put it down, and how much access are you giving. Answer them one at a time instead of settling both in a single generous moment.
