A risk you can’t explain to someone you trust is probably a risk you shouldn’t take.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Saying a plan out loud to somebody who cares about you is a cheap test, and it works because bad plans are hard to say. If you catch yourself leaving out details, shrinking the numbers, or hoping they do not ask the obvious question, you already know something. Their reaction matters less than how it felt to describe it. Secrecy tends to be load-bearing for the risks that should not be taken.

Before the next big one, describe it fully to someone you trust, including the part you would rather skip. If you cannot get through that without flinching, wait.
