Choosing to keep a promise when it got inconvenient is quiet courage.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Promises are cheap when you make them and expensive when the day arrives. The shift gets moved, a better offer appears, the weather turns, and suddenly there is a perfectly good reason not to show up. Keeping it anyway, with nobody watching and no credit coming, is where your word actually gets built. People remember who turned up on the bad day.
Look at what you agreed to this week and now wish you had not. Go anyway, and if you truly cannot, tell the person yourself and early rather than letting it quietly dissolve. Promise a little less next time so the ones you make hold.
What did keeping your word cost you the last time?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
