Calling out your own team’s cheating when you’re winning is one of the bravest calls in sports.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Honesty is easy when it costs you nothing. Speaking up when the advantage is in your favour means handing back something you wanted, in front of people who wanted it too, and taking the blame for the loss. Teammates will not thank you that day. But you are the one who has to live inside your own version of events.

Say it to your own side first and quietly, before it becomes a public scene. Name the specific thing rather than calling anyone a cheat. If nothing changes, decide in advance what you are willing to do about it, because the moment will not wait while you work it out.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Would you say something about an unfair win in your favor?
