Harsh critics and fans both lie sometimes. Look for the person who tells you which part lost them.

Praise and hostility are both easy to produce and tell you almost nothing. Someone who loves you wants you to keep going, someone who resents you wants you to stop. Neither is paying attention to the work. The useful person is the one who can point at minute two and say that is where they stopped caring, because that is a fact you can act on.

Next time you show something, ask one person for the exact moment they drifted. Do not argue with the answer and do not explain what you meant. Fix that one spot, show it again, and keep whoever gives you answers like that close.
