Remake an old family recipe your own way. Tradition gets to grow too.
CREATIVITY
CREATIVITY
Traditions stay alive by being handled, not preserved. A recipe that was passed down to you was itself somebody’s version of something older, changed to fit what they had and who they were feeding. Changing it again continues the thing rather than breaking it. Keeping something frozen is just a slower way of losing it.
Cook a family dish once as written, then once with one deliberate change of your own. Tell whoever gave it to you what you did and why. Write your version down somewhere it can be passed on again.
Has your family let any tradition change yet?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
